A look behind the scenes - or rather into the huge mixer and sorting facilities of paper production - shows that sophisticated recycling processes and state-of-the-art technology are needed to process around 2,000 tons of waste paper into new pulp every day.

Up to 5,000 tons of waste paper arrive at PKV every day. The Raw Materials Logistics department is responsible for receiving and storing the various types of waste paper at the waste paper yard and the two external warehouses.

The annual update of the PKV sustainability data is now available for 2023 - the report documents further steps on the path to climate neutrality, but also with regard to responsibility for employees and supply chains. The company published a roadmap for complete CO₂ reduction at the beginning of 2025.

For generations, PKV has relied on waste paper as a raw material and thus on sustainability and resource conservation. High quality from recycling has become the company's brand essence.

33 years at PKV, ten of them as Technical Managing Director - Ulrich Lange has dedicated his entire professional life to the paper and board mill and has helped shape the course of the company in various management positions over the decades.
